What Is a Business Name Generator?
A business name generator is an online tool that instantly creates unique, brandable company names based on your industry, business type, and style preferences. Instead of spending hours brainstorming — or paying a branding agency thousands of dollars — you get hundreds of curated name ideas in seconds, each paired with a domain hint and a naming rationale.
This tool is purpose-built for 13 specific business types: startups, agencies, SaaS products, consulting firms, e-commerce stores, restaurants, retail shops, freelance studios, nonprofits, law firms, healthcare practices, and construction companies. Each type has its own curated suffix vocabulary — an agency gets “Media”, “Collective”, and “Bureau”; a SaaS product gets “Cloud”, “Flow”, and “Engine” — so every generated name actually sounds like it belongs in your sector.
Pair that with 6 naming styles (Modern, Classic, Professional, Creative, Playful, and Minimalist), 14 industry word banks, seed keywords you control, and a name-structure filter (one-word compounds vs. two-word names), and you have a naming tool that generates results you’d actually consider using — not random nonsense.
How to Use the Business Name Generator
- Select your business type — Choose from the 13 type cards at the top (Startup, Agency, SaaS, Consulting, etc.) to activate type-specific name patterns.
- Pick a naming style — Modern for tech-forward brands, Classic for trust-first businesses, Professional for B2B firms, Creative for design-led ventures, Playful for consumer brands, or Minimalist for ultra-clean one-word names.
- Choose your industry — The industry niche selects the right vocabulary bank (Tech, Finance, Food, Healthcare, etc.) so words blend naturally into your names.
- Set name structure — Any (no filter), One Word (e.g. NexoForge), or Two Words (e.g. Bright Agency).
- Add seed keywords — Enter 1–3 words you want the generator to incorporate (e.g. “swift, cloud, forge”). Leave blank for fully invented names.
- Set count — Use the slider or type a number from 1 to 100. Higher counts give you a wider pool to evaluate.
- Click Generate — Browse the name cards. Each card shows the name, naming rationale, and a suggested domain. Copy a name or all names at once.
- Regenerate freely — Each run uses a fresh random seed, so hitting Regenerate gives you a completely new batch with the same filters.

How the Business Name Generator Works
The generator uses a multi-strategy word-bank engine with four independent components working together:
- Style prefix bank — 20 curated prefixes per style (Modern, Classic, Professional, Creative, Playful, Minimalist).
- Business-type suffix bank — 12 specific suffixes per business type that sound native to that category.
- Industry word bank — 20 vocabulary words per industry niche (Tech, Finance, Food, etc.) that serve as natural roots.
- Keyword injection — your own words are blended into strategies 0, 5, and 6 for personalised results.
On each call, a timestamp-seeded random picks from 8 combination strategies — keyword + suffix, prefix + suffix, prefix + industry, industry + suffix, compound merges, and keyword blends. A case-insensitive deduplication set filters repeats. The name structure filter then applies to exclude one- or two-word names based on your selection. Each accepted name is paired with a domain slug and a randomly selected TLD (.com, .io, .co, .app, .ai, .net, .biz).

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this business name generator completely free?
Yes — 100% free with no account required. Generate as many names as you want across any business type and style combination.
What is the difference between one-word and two-word name structures?
One-word names (e.g. NexoForge, ClarityFlow) are compact compounds that work brilliantly as app names, domain names, and social handles. Two-word names (e.g. Sterling Advisory, Prism Collective) are more descriptive and communicate both the brand personality and the business function at a glance.
How do I choose between Modern, Classic, and Professional styles?
Modern is best for tech, SaaS, and digital-first brands — it uses clean, invented-sounding words. Classic is ideal for professional services (finance, law, consulting) where trust is the first purchase. Professional generates clear, action-oriented names used across B2B sectors. When in doubt, generate all three styles and compare side-by-side.
Can I trademark a generated business name?
Yes, if it’s distinctive and not already registered. Run a trademark search at USPTO.gov (US), EUIPO.eu (Europe), or your national IP office before filing. Descriptive names (e.g. "Fast Delivery Co") are harder to protect than invented words (e.g. "Nexolab").
What does the domain hint mean? Is the domain definitely available?
The domain hint is a starting-point suggestion built from the name slug plus a suitable TLD. It does not check live availability. Always verify at a domain registrar like Namecheap, GoDaddy, or Google Domains before purchasing.
My keywords are not appearing in many results — why?
Keywords are used in 3 of the 8 generation strategies, so they appear in roughly 37% of names by design. This ensures variety across the full result set. For more keyword-heavy output, reduce the count to 10–15 and regenerate a few times.
What makes a great business name?
The best business names are easy to spell, easy to say aloud, short (ideally 1–2 syllables), available as a .com domain (or a strong alternative), not trademarked by a competitor, and free of negative connotations in other languages. A name that scores on all six counts is a keeper.
How is this different from the AI Name Generator on this site?
The AI Name Generator is a multi-mode tool covering businesses, products, characters, and domains. The Business Name Generator is a dedicated, deeper tool for company naming only — it has 13 sector-specific business types, each with their own curated suffix vocabulary, plus 6 styles and a name-structure filter not available in the general tool.
