How the Conversion Works
Every volume unit is stored as an exact multiplier of the litre (the SI base unit for volume). To convert from unit A to unit B, the engine uses the ratio formula:
result = value × factor(A) ÷ factor(B)
For example, to convert 5 litres → US gallons: the litre factor is 1 and the US gallon factor is 3.785411784, so result = 5 × 1 ÷ 3.785411784 = 1.32086 gal.
